Spring Teacher Blogger Meet-up Weekend in Review

Two weekends ago I ventured down to French Lick with Allison Stuckey to relax, reenergize, and network with other teachers and bloggers.  The weekend was amazing.  During the blog meet up I was able to swap ideas and gain a ton of information at the table talks!  It was so nice to learn and be inspired by other teachers.  Of course the best was yet to come!  At the end we snagged a ton of door prizes!  From Scentos markers and stickers, Vera Bradley bags, and my favorite smelly pens!  During the door prize drawing I won $30.00 to TPT!  Here are some pictures of the meet up

Later in the evening TPT and GoNoodle sponsored a PJ party!  Teachers, PJ’s, Music, Crafts, and WINE!  What more could one ask for!  Here are some pictures from the Party!

Crack, Crack, & a Quack!

Crack, crack, and a quack!  We have been warming, turning, and loving four duck eggs for the last 28 days!  On the busiest day of the school year... ZOO day, the ducklings decided to start the process of hatching!  By the time we got back to school one duckling had made a few spider web cracks all over their shell.  What a day to start the hatching process!
Check out the pictures of the newest members of first grade!

I used these products to set up a duck area/unit!  I had to use chick units because of the lack of duck ones :(  My summer to do list now includes a duckling unit!

Blooming First Graders- A Community Garden

We are blooming in first grade!  My favorite unit of the year is plants.  I started the garden program two years ago.  As a class we grow lettuce, carrots, and radishes from seeds to plants.  I have the students keep observation journals.  The journals monitor growth and changes throughout the last two months of school.  As our lettuce and veggies grow we have a salad bar party!  The students loved looking at the seeds under magnifying glasses!  Click here to download a free plant observation journal!  These are the journals my students are using to document our plants life!

Planting Day!

Stay tuned for updates on our garden!
