Christmas Count Down!

This is my favorite time of year with my class.  I love to see their excitement for the holiday season.  I started pulling out boxes and decorating my own home and my second home lol. I found some cute Christmas decorations at Target, in the dollar spot! This year we are doing a Grinch Unit!  I found some great ideas on the First Grade Parade! Click here to check it out!  

Cyber Monday :)

I can't believe how fast holidays go by.  I spent the weekend catching up with family, a girls black Friday shopping day, and getting ready for the next Facebook Frenzy!  The next Facebook Frenzy will be this upcoming weekend!   There will be LOTS of free winter themed items for every grade level and subject!  I LOVE FREE STUFF!  Be sure to check out my Facebook page on Friday!

Facebook Frenzy!!

Small Groups!

I absolutely love to teach my daily small groups.  I start each lesson out with a quick 5 minute game over the skill we are working on.  I have developed a small group pack for the fall season.  In the pack there is non-sense words, a long vowel game, a digraph game, and phrases. What do you know about the number.....

One of my favorite calendar activities is what do you know about the number of the day!  I can't believe what the children come up with!  Many of the children come in first thing and want to share their math problem!  It's very interesting to see the growth each month.  After Christmas we will start using the amount of days we have been in school as our number. 

my FIRST post!!

OMG!! I am so excited to have my blog up and running!  I want to start by sharing my classroom.  This is my third year in first grade.  We are "camping" in our room this year!  Here is a peek at my second home :)
